Attorney Lauren P. Raysor, Esq. Fights
to Get Justice, Money for Her Clients

In a time of global financial turmoil, where a sea of ever-mounting foreclosures are present, Lauren P. Raysor, Esq., a renowned Manhattan-based New York attorney, announced that she has recently re-filed a complaint in New York State Supreme Court, Westchester County, on behalf of her clients, Niosha Gibson and Monique Johnson. The complaint alleges a breach of contract by property owners Dina Palmiotto and Danzig, Fishman, & Decea of White Plains (the law firm that represented Ms. Palmiotto), failure of Ms. Palmiotto to finish construction on a new home, and refusal to pay back the money she borrowed from Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson, who wholeheartedly answered her cry for monetary help.

Through an investigation by Ms. Raysor, Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson have uncovered clear conflicts of interest on the part of Danzig, Fishman, & Decea, and a pattern of deceit on the part of the Palmiottos. Further, it was confirmed by Supreme Court Justice Richard Liebowitz, who candidly admitted on the record that the actions of Danzig, Fishman, & Decea were disingenuous, at best, which caused him to accelerate and evict Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson from their home. It appears that, in frustration, Judge Liebowitz dismissed the complaint involving the action of ejection but left Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson with little or no redress but to start the case over.

Through further investigation, it appears that there is conduct that, at best, is subject to a judiciary investigation. For example, a Supreme Court Justice recused himself because of a conversation held about Ms. Gibson’s and Ms. Johnson’s case at a Yonkers Bar Association annual Christmas party. He had this conversation with another attorney who was then — and is now — the attorney for the Palmiottos who are defendants in this matter. Mysteriously, the TRO (temporary restraining order) which was filed to stop the Palmiottos’ from renting and/or selling the property was delayed for one month until after three judges recused themselves and a final judge adjourned the case for more than a month.

Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson are currently filing a grievance with the Judiciary Commission on Judicial Misconduct, and are pursuing all avenues of obtaining justice. “We looked forward to having a day in court for vindication and repayment. Instead, we feel further victimized by what appears to be a lopsided system we believed would protect us. We’re left wondering: where is justice?” say Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson.

“Will my clients, Ms. Gibson and Ms. Johnson — two African-American women — ever get justice?” Ms. Raysor said. “My clients are still without their home or their down payment and other monies due are being depleted of their assets.”
