"Makeda Barnes-Joseph remains hospitalized in intensive care after being shot twice in the abdomen by the rapper known as Remy Ma, while sitting in a car outside a New York City night club Saturday night.
My clients, members of Ms. Barnes-Joseph’s family, are focused on her recovery. She continues to be in their thoughts and prayers. She has also received support from dozens of friends and fellow New Yorkers. We thank them for their prayers and well wishes.
Ms. Barnes-Joseph is the victim of a criminal act. The investigation and pending criminal case are being handled by the New York City Police Department and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. We are confident that justice will be served."
