Attorney Lauren P. Raysor, Esq. Hosts Meet-and-Greet for Manhattan DA Candidate Leslie Crocker Snyder

Will Be Joined by Attorney Pamela D. Hayes

Attorney Lauren Raysor, Esq., a civil rights attorney based in Manhattan who is in a high-profile civil case against rapper Remy Ma, announced she is supporting Leslie Crocker Snyder in Ms. Snyder’s Democratic primary run for the office of Manhattan District Attorney. Joined by another attorney, Pamela D. Hayes, Ms. Raysor will hold a meet-and-greet with the candidate on August 13 at Creole Restaurant in East Harlem from 6-8 p.m. The restaurant is located at 2167 3rd Avenue (between 118th and 119th Streets).

For the past 35 years, Ms. Snyder has served as a prosecutor and a judge. As an assistant district attorney for nine years, she was the first woman in the New York County District Attorney’s office to try both felony and homicide cases. She also founded and led the Sex Crimes Prosecution Bureau — the first in the nation — and co-authored New York’s Rape Shield Law. After leaving the DA’s office, she became Special Assistant Attorney General, in which she rooted out corruption in the criminal justice system. She also served in the Office of the New York City Criminal Justice Coordinator as head of the Arson Strike Force.

In 1983, Ms. Snyder was appointed judge to the Criminal Court of New York City, and was subsequently appointed to the New York State Supreme Court and the Court of Claims. While on the bench, Ms. Snyder presided over high–level cases involving drug gangs, organized crime and white-collar criminals. She also presided over the “Garbage” case, which led to the reform of the private sanitation industry in New York City.

“Ms. Hayes and I are supporting Ms. Snyder’s run for District Attorney because of her solid experience in prosecuting the most notorious criminals who have committed some of the most horrible crimes this city has ever seen,” Ms. Raysor said. “Her experience in the DA’s office and in the courtroom will make her a terrific district attorney.”
